Do you offer Niagara AX/N4 certification courses?

Although DDC Support Services uses Tridium Niagara Jaces in our training systems

we are not directlly affiliated with Tridium or any of it's Certification partners.

Our PT-816 and PT-8000 portable training systems are designed to be used by

Tridium AX/N4 certified Systems Integrators as a follow-up or supplement to AX/N4 certification training.  Our DDC/BAS-101/PT-131 system, Intro to PLC/PT-101 and other systems are designed for use by College level vocational programs, appreticiships, and controls companies (Systems Integrators or SIs).

What specific training packages are available?

The current courses (and associated PT trainer) that are available:  

     DDC/HVAC-101  Introduction to Direct Digital Controls - HVAC Focus (PT-131)

     DDC/HVAC-301 Niagara AX Programming for HVAC and Building Automation (PT-78)

       DDC/HVAC-301 Sedona Controller Programming for Building Automation (PT-223)

     PLC-101  Introduction to PLCs and Operator Displays (PT-101PLC)

     (This course is an online video series from Automation Direct)

Future course offerings will include:

      DDC/HVAC-201 Direct Digital Controls for the DDC/HVAC Service Technician (PT-131 Level2)

What are the DDC/HVAC-101 course learning objectives?

  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic electrical theory as it relates to Direct Digital Controls
  • Demonstrate knowledge of related vocabulary used in industry for DDC Controls and HVAC applications.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of various HVAC equipment and control requirements for HVAC
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various DDC Control components, sensors and devices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of BACnet, LON, and Modbus, & wireless network protocols used in DDC Controls.
  • Demonstrate ability to use a Digital Multi-meter and other diagnostic equipment related to DDC Controls.
  • Demonstrate ability to use PC software and web interface for configuration and testing of DDC Controllers.
  • Demonstrate ability to create a basic DDC program that includes the three fundamental elements of inputs, logic, and outputs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of PID loops and thermostat logic, specific to HVAC applications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Building Management Systems software including graphics, alarms, trends, and scheduling functions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the major manufacturers and distributers of DDC Controls.
  • Demonstrate understanding of HVAC and DDC Employer’s expectations of an entry level DDC technician and the keys to success and advancement in the industry. 

What are the payment terms?
     Orders placed through one of our Educational Distributors requires payment

    directly to the Distributors.

    Direct orders require a 10% non-refundable payment at the time the order is placed with

    the balance due at the time of shipment.

    Net 30 payment is allowed for pre-qualified customers.

What is the availability/time from order to shipment?

     From order placement to shipment will be approximately 60 to 90 days, depending on order.

What are the warranty/repairs/upgrades available?

     All portable trainers and custom units are warrantied for a period of one year from delivery.

What are the PC requirements?

     Windows7, Windows8.1, Windows 10 with JAVA ver 8

     JAVA Web Start applets downloaded to the PC
